Behind the Music of Robbie Wilson

Personal Profile

Robbie Wilson is a composer and multi-instrumentalist, a central Massachusetts native, has a broad musical background.  After starting the guitar at thirteen years old, Robbie was soon playing a variety of different genres in bars and pubs every weekend.  The intense musical training from performing weekly prepared Robbie for his future endeavors when they got to college where they began studying cello, composition, and audio engineering.  


At Clark Robbie has is involved in several different ensembles, most notably as the treasurer and player in Sinfonia, Clark Universities string ensemble, and as the cellist and arts director for the Goddard Quartet, a student chamber ensemble on campus.  Robbie has also been commissioned to write works such as “A Theme and Variations on The Red River Valley” which they wrote for Sinfonia.  Robbie also works and interns at FarmView Studio, a reimagining of the prestigious Long View Studio. 


Robbie is currently going into their senior year at clark as part the graduating class of 2023 and is currently working on their honors composition project, a composition recital and short concert series.  The recital will be made up of several works including a string quartet and song cycle for solo voice and piano.  The overarching theme of the concert series and pieces will be the natural and pastoral essence of New England and Massachusetts life and the different identities that make up this region.
